Short Bio
I am the author of Amaranth, a science-fiction series that blends thriller and a dystopian society set in a post-apocalyptic world. I mainly write science-fiction, but also fantasy, science-fantasy and urban fantasy. My books are inspired by my travels, religion, mythology, science, archeology, foreign languages and conlangs.
I have a Master’s in Applied Linguistics and ten years of experience in teaching and curriculum design. I have also studied in translation, which allows me to write and translate all my books to reach as many readers as possible.
Journey
When I was in college in 2015, I made the decision to pursue my dream to write and publish books wholeheartedly, a childhood fantasy that I cherished. I promised to myself to reconnect with the stories living in my mind. At that time, I started drafting Amaranth which had a different title then.
In 2020, I published my debut novel Amarante, a science-fiction dystopia, in French, the fruit of more than five years of hard work while I tweaked the story and improved my craft. This first step in the publishing world amidst the pandemic was enlightening, and 2021 was a very productive year in terms of writing. I also translated the full book and wrote a few stories in English directly. The choice to write this series in French was a challenge and an opportunity which helped me grow immensely.
Amaranth will be published later this year around October and it is available for preorder now on Amazon.
The prequel, Flower of Memory, was a bit of a surprise when I wrote it last year. It will be released before the main title Amaranth this summer. In the meantime, you can subscribe and get the ebook for free.
I am almost finished writing the third and last instalment in the Amaranth series which means each book will come out successively. More on that later!

Magic Wands and Dragons
At the age of 8, I buried myself into the universe of J. K. Rowling which swallowed me whole. It was a world beyond my imagination, especially at a time when children’s fiction had very limited choices. As a bonus, I grew up with Harry who was around the same age. At night, I learned to cast my own spells to stave off darkness : Lumos !
At 12, I was reading more and more, but I also spent a lot of time playing video games such as RPGs which are basically extended novels that transcend media. My head buzzing with ideas, I undertook the painstaking journey of writing a novel set in a fantasy world, where dragons with coveted powers struck terror.
Day by day, I wrote in my Harry Potter notebook, that people of my age would have used as a diary or a book of shadows, to pen their spells. But that was my version of a blank Microsoft Word page to let my imagination run wild.
Obviously, the threat of the great evil dragons was no more, and the good guys had saved the world by waving their magic wands.
A Forgotten Manuscript
In my 20s, I regretted not having written anything since the sore defeat of those evil dragons, which I never got to write the ending. So, I got into the writing of a fantasy novel. But this time, I was determined to finish that story.
I completed the challenge. Not only did I write the whole story, but I reached the 100k-word mark, a first at the time. However, I ended up throwing it out. I had digressed from the original idea, and the spark I had in mind did not come to life. I pantsed my way through that story. Bad idea.
It was a rough lesson to learn, but necessary.
Dystopian Debut Novel
Third time’s the charm. In 2005, more than five years after putting my desire to write to sleep, it came back stronger than ever. I decided to push my limits, and to consider writing as a profession that can be learnt.
This shift made a whole world of difference in my way to do things. It allowed me to tackle this new project headfirst. The worlds that have been growing inside me since my childhood are finally coming to life.
I have published my debut in French since, in November 2020 to be precise, with Flame Arrow Publishing, an imprint I own. The English version will come out later in 2022.
Today
I teach languages, especially English, and travel the world, always looking for new adventures and opportunities. I hope the worlds I create in my novels will resonate with you and that you will have as much fun as I had writing them.
I am almost done penning the third and last book in the Amaranth series, a science-fiction dystopia. I have many projects on my list and the end of this series is the beginning of another adventure.
